About Manny

Manny Pargman was a vibrant and energetic spirit who brought joy to everyone he met. He brought the fun and lit up the room.  His infectious smile and warm, magnetic personality made him a beloved figure to family, friends, and anyone fortunate enough to cross his path. His laughter was contagious, and his kindness, limitless.

Manny was a natural athlete and skilled baseball player (catcher).  He enjoyed the outdoors, time with family and his dog Flynn, and the Atlanta Braves. He worked as an assistant Sunday School teacher for three years during high school.  But his real passion was music.  He was a talented drummer who enjoyed playing rock and jazz.   He also enjoyed DJing, a skill that brought him immense joy as he brought the beats to parties or created a party even when one wasn’t planned.

Beyond his talents, Manny was simply a joy to be around. He made everyone feel like family, often offering a hug or saying “I love you” without hesitation. He had more close, meaningful, and deep friendships than anyone could keep track of.  He was a good listener and friends often sought him out to process their own trials and challenges.

After graduating from Riverwood High School in Sandy Springs (Atlanta), Georgia, he started college at his dream school – the University of Colorado Boulder. Manny died by suicide in Boulder two days after returning to school after Thanksgiving break in 2024.

Manny’s music, his love, and his joy live on through the thousands of friends, family, and  community members who knew him … by joining together in Manny’s Band, we work so the songs and contributions of others are not silenced prematurely by suicide.
